Requesting for non-B visa in Thailand/Outside Thailand
1. Teachers will submit the documents stated below to IDEAL operations department
If teacher possesses tourist visa (processing requires 60 days validity)
- Passport
- Original university degree
- Original university transcripts
- Degree verification letter from university
- Original TEFL certificate (only if applicable)
- Original affidavit (only if applicable)
- Original english proficiency test results (only if applicable)
- TOEFL or CU-TEP = 557
- IELTS = 5.5
- TOEIC = 850
- Documents from previous school i.e. reference letter of employment (details: worked as english teacher, the level of students, teaching period), work permit, temporary teacher license with teacher’s signature (only if applicable)
- Biographical data form (F101) (IDEAL document)
- Color passport-style photographs, matte finish (i.e., not glossy), dressed in business attire (do not smile)
- 6 photos, 1.5” x 2” (4cm x 5.5cm)
- 6 photos, 2” x 2.5” (5cm x 6.5cm)
- Thai culture training certificate (only if applicable)
Teachers must participate in and produce a certificate for thai cultural training when:
- They have taught in Thailand officially with a work permit and temporary or permanent teacher license, for any length of time, and have not previously earned the certificate.
- They have taught with IDEAL English Academy for two years and have not previously earned the certificate.
Note: The new teacher must submit documents listed below on the first day (Date of joining). Upon completion of this process, the teacher’s documents will be returned back.
2. Letter from Ministry of Education (MOE)
This process will be responsible by IDEAL for submitting the documents and receiving the letter from MOE.
Once documents listed below is prepared by IDEAL, duration for receiving letter from MOE is 3 weeks.
- Letter from school to Ministry of Education
- A copy of permission letter of establishing the school
- Thai contract
- Passport and a copy of passport with teacher’s signature
- Original university degree and a copy of degree with teacher’s signature
- Original transcript and a copy of transcript with teacher’s signature
- Degree verification letter from university and a copy of degree verification letter from university with teacher’s signature
- Original TEFL certificate and a copy of TEFL certificate with teacher’s signature (only if applicable)
- Original english proficiency test and a copy of english proficiency test with teacher’s signature (only if applicable)
- Original affidavit and a copy of affidavit with teacher’s signature (only if applicable)
- Reference letter of employment (only if applicable)
3. Submit the documents inside Thailand / outside Thailand
Required documents:
- Letter from school to the Immigration/Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate
- Letter from Ministry of Education to the Immigration/Thai Embassy or Thai Consular
- A copy of permission letter of establishing the school
- Thai contract
- Passport and a copy of passport with teacher’s signature
- Original university degree and a copy of degree with teacher’s signature
- Original transcript and a copy of transcript with teacher’s signature
- Degree verification letter from university and a copy of degree verification letter from university with teacher’s signature
- Original TEFL certificate and a copy of TEFL certificate with teacher’s signature (only if applicable)
- Original english proficiency test and a copy of english proficiency test with teacher’s signature (only if applicable)
- Original affidavit and a copy of affidavit with teacher’s signature (only if applicable)
- Reference letter of employment (only if applicable)
- 1 photo, 1.5” x 2” (4cm x 5.5 cm)
3.1 Inside Thailand – Submit the documents at The Immigration Bureau
This process will be responsible by teacher for submitting the documents at Immigration Bureau with 2,000 baht expense for visa fee.

Receiving date of Non-B visa depends on officer’s decision.
You can receive Non-B visa either on applied date or need to make an appointment, which usually takes approximately 2 weeks after the applied date.
3.2 Outside Thailand – Submit the document at Thai Consulate/Thai Embassy
This process will be responsible by teacher for submitting the documents at Thai Consulate/Thai Embassy with 2,000 baht expense for visa fee
- Teachers are recommended to use the visa service from Thaivisaservice.com, the expense is approximately 4000 baht.
- Your visa can be received on applied date or need to make an appointment, which usually takes approximately 1-2 days after the applied date.
If teachers complete this stage and already receive the Non-B visa, submit all original documents back to IDEAL operations department.
Visa Extension
Teacher together with IDEAL, submit the documents at government center and receive visa extension on applied date.
Required documents:
- Letter from school to the immigration signed by school director
- A copy of permission letter of establishing the school signed by school director
- Application for extension Visa (TM. 7) signed by teacher
- Work permit and copies of work permit from page 2-7 signed by teacher
- Acknowledgement of the candidate for permitted continuation of stay in the Kingdom of Thailand (สตม. 2) with teacher’s signature
- Original and a copy of temporary teacher license / the register confirmation document from MOE with teacher’s signature
- A copy of school teacher license with teacher’s signature
- Thai contract
- Passport and copies of passport on the first page (shows your picture), Non-B visa page, and page that shows expiration date of Non-B visa with teacher’s signature
- A copy of university degree with teacher’s signature
- 1 photos, 1.5” x 2” (4cm x 5.5 cm)
